SHORT ABSTRACT
During his PhD studies, Zhimin Chen researched solid-state electrolytes with disordered structure. Solid electrolytes are a key component of battery technology, with the potential for high energy density and enhanced safety. Disordered or partially disordered solid electrolytes are an emerging research focus, attracting significant attention due to their unique structural characteristics. Zhimin Chen studied various factors affecting the mechanical properties and ion dynamics of disordered solid electrolytes, with a particular focus on lithium-containing glassy materials. His research provided insights into how structural modifications at the atomic and network levels influence material performance.

The new research findings contribute to offer guidance for designing high-performance glassy solid electrolytes and glassy solids with enhanced mechanical properties.
