Microbial Ecology and Environmental Genomics

Our main interest is on the use and development of computational tools to understand the fundamental ecological principles governing microbial community assembly. In that effort, we have engaged with theoretical ecology, algorithmics, molecular and evolutionary biology, biostatistics, and many more related fields. The main lines of research in the MEEG laboratory are:
- Biogeography and Microbial Ecology
- Theoretical and Mathematical Ecology
- Prokaryotic Systematics and Genomics
- Data Ethics
